Los Vegas

This morning at 4:30 my Mom and Dad left for Los Vegas. Why, you might ask, would they want to go there? After all its the #1 place my Mom didn't want to vacation to. Well the company that my Dad works for (Aqua-Therm) called for a meeting there. The owner (Dave Larson) has just been diagnosed with leukemia so I think they are trying to figure out what to do if the worst-case scenario (meaning Mr. Larson dies) happened. Aqua-Therm originally had been a partnership consisting of 3 men, but the business started failing this fall so the other 2 guys couldn't do it any more. Why, you might ask, was the business failing? After all with gas prices going up everyone wants a wood burning stove. You see, they made this new Omega that doesn’t smoke. (They tried to anyways) First they kept on pushing the date the Omegas would be shipped out forward. When we finally got some stoves, something bad happened. They all seemed to be quitting. In the mean time we got more stoves, sold more stoves, got some more, sold some more. Then we get the terrible news that none of the Omegas work. They all have to be re-called. On top of that Aqua-Therm can only produce some 7-8 stoves a day-that’s when the other guys got “fired”. In the end things did straighten out but not all of them. Then the owner got leukemia. So that is why they are going to Los Vegas. Originally just Dad and Mr. Michealjohn were going to go but Mr. MJ didn't want to leave his wife so then Dad said he didn't want to leave my Mom. (Thankfully Sanna went with Mom). Also this afternoon us kids will be going down to our Grandparents to stay till Sunday night. (So, alas and alack, we won't be in church).
I need to go help people with lunch!
